Welcome back to Word of the Weird Wednesday! Sorry there wasn’t a post last week, but it was the 4th of July and I figured those of us in the States had better things to do. But now I’m back and bringing you another post about the weird happenings in our world.
June of last year, a diving expedition, a team of Swedish treasure hunters known as Ocean X, found a bizarre image on their sonar. The image was that of a disc-like structure at 90 meters in the Baltic Sea. Pictures of this odd round structure have sparked much controversy. Some believe it could be some sort of UFO, while others believe that it could be something as ordinary as a meteorite, an asteroid, some sort of volcano or the base for a U-Boat.
Attempts to get near the structure in a submersible have garnered some strange results as well. Allegedly once they are over the object at around 200 meters, electronics seem to quite working, including their satellite phone. There is also what seems to be some sort of cleared track near the object, which some are saying was created when it skidded to a halt on the sea bed, or from which it can take off, like some sort of landing strip.
In an even more bizarre turn of events, it is shaped much like the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Weird to say the least!
• Object is raised about 10 to 13ft above seabed and curved at the sides like a mushroom
• Hole is surrounded by an strange rock formation that expedition team can not explain
• Stones are covered in something 'resembling soot' which has baffled experts
• Divers say phones and some cameras switch off when close to the object
